All newly installed construction lifts should undergo a drop test of the rated load of the cage, and thereafter at least once every three months. Today, the editor summarizes the methods of the construction elevator cage drop test. I hope it will be helpful to you. When the construction elevator is working normally and the safety device stops spontaneously or makes noise, the operation should be stopped immediately and the manufacturer should be notified.
During the drop test, no one is allowed in the cage. It can only be carried out after confirming that all components of the construction elevator are faultless. The steps are as follows
Cut off the power supply and connect the wires from the ground control button box to the power box. Straighten out the cables to prevent them from being cut when the cage is raised or lowered.
After installing the rated load in the cage, turn on the main switch and operate the button box on the ground to make the cage rise about one meter and stop.
Press the fall button and hold it. At this time, the motor brake is loose and has no effect, and the cage falls freely. When the safety device action speed is reached, the cage will stop smoothly on the guide rail frame.
Note that if the bottom of the cage is about meters from the ground and the cage has not been stopped by the safety device, the fall button should be released immediately to allow the motor to resume braking to prevent the cage from hitting the bottom.
When trying to start the cage, it should not move upward because the safety device microswitch has cut off the control power supply at this time. If it can still move, the microswitch should be readjusted.
The above is a summary of the construction elevator cage drop test method for everyone. Beijing Jiuhong Heavy Industry is a professional construction elevator manufacturer, looking forward to your visit and guidance
